Terms and Conditions
By using our services, you agree to the following terms
A) Tuition Fees for Weekly Tuition and Payment Policy upon Registration
1. The registration fee of $50 is a one-time payment, for new students only, made upon registration with the centre and it is non-refundable.
2. A material fee of $50 per subject will be collected every semester upon enrolment. The material fee will not be pro-rated and is not refundable.
3. For first-time sign-ups, each child is required to furnish a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of 4 Weeks’s fees (4/8/12 lessons). This deposit shall be used to offset 4/8/12 lessons in the following calendar month, with effect of notice of withdrawal. In the event that insufficient notice or no notice is given for any withdrawal, this deposit may be forfeited.
4. Tuition Fees must be paid by the first week of the month. Goods and Services Tax (“GST”) is not charged.
5. Tuition Fees will be pro-rated if the student registers and attends lessons at any juncture of the programme.
6. Payment of fees can be made via: (1) Cash (2) Bank Transfer (3) PayNow (4) Cheque.
7. All payment of fees is non-refundable. In the event that the student is absent for a particular lesson, fees will not be credited to the subsequent lessons/month and the lesson will still be chargeable regardless of the reason provided.
Only if the student is able to produce official documentation (e.g. doctor’s letter, official letter or medical certificate), a replacement lesson may be arranged subject to availability and vacancy.
8. Thinker-Matics reserves the right to cancel any lesson at any time during the term. Thinker-Matics will do their best to inform parents/guardians in advanced if such a situation arises. In the event of cancelled lessons, fees that have been paid for the cancelled lessons may be refunded or credited to the following lesson(s)/month(s).
9. Weekly tuition classes will be conducted from January till the end of the year exams without any breaks in between. Classes as usual on public/school holidays unless informed otherwise.
10. Thinker-Matics reserves all rights to make changes to any of their programmes, and may, at its discretion, amend timings, availability, venues, content and specialist trainers according to programme priorities and clients’ needs.
B) Discount Policy
1. Students will be eligible for the following multiple subjects discount (2 subjects – 10% discount, 3 subjects – 20% discount).
2. Students who have siblings will also be eligible for the multiple subject discount.
(2 siblings taking 1 subject each will be entitled to a 5% discount each).
3. Students are also eligible for a referral discount if they recommend another student(s).
4. Discounts that are offered to students and parents/guardians will be applicable to the course of their enrolment.
5. Any special prices, offers and/or discounts that may be offered are quoted for respective students and may not apply to others, unless with prior approval of the Thinker-Matics Management.
C) Withdrawal
1. Any student who wishes to withdraw from the programme must inform Thinker-Matics at least one month before the withdrawal date. Upon such notice, remaining lessons in that month still have to be paid in full. To re-join the Centre at a future date, he/she will be subjected to new fee structure and terms of the programme. Students will also have to be reassessed on their suitability to re-enrol into the programme and may have to join a waitlist queue.
D) Make-up Lesson Policy
1. It is the responsibility of the student(s) and/or parent(s)/guardian(s) to inform the centre if the child is to be absent for a lesson.
2. There will be NO make-up lessons.
3. As all our classes are group-based, the tutors are not obligated to conduct a separate make-up class for any individual student regardless of the reason of absence.
4. Students with valid reasons will be allowed to make-up the missed lesson by attending another ongoing class during the same academic week (i.e. from Wednesday to Friday),
provided that:
there is more than 1 class;
there is a vacancy in the class that the student intends to attend as the make-up class;
5. Tutors are not obligated to reteach the student during make-up lessons and it will be up to the goodwill of the Tutors to assist the students during the lesson.
6. In the event where the student is absent, no tuition fee refund will be given.
7. There is be strictly no pro-rating and refund of tuition fees regardless of the reasons given.
E) Welfare Policy
1. The Management and Tutors of Thinker-Matics will do their best to provide reasonable care of the students while they are under the care and supervision of Thinker-Matics, within the premises of Thinker-Matics’ centres.
2. Thinker-Matics is not responsible nor obligated to provide food for students.
3. In the case where a student is ill, parent(s)/guardian(s) will be contacted to bring the student home immediately.
4. In the case of an emergency, Thinker-Matics Management and Staff will provide reasonable care to send the student to the nearest clinic or arrange for an ambulance to send the student to the nearest hospital for more serious cases.
F) Parent’s Declaration of Special Learning Conditions
1. It is imperative that any child with special learning conditions of any nature be made known to the centre in the official registration form. This will minimise the risk of the child joining a programme not suited to the child’s level of development and ability. These learning conditions may require specialised courses. In the event that this disclosure is not made and the child is found unfit to continue, there will not be any refund of fees.
G) Disclaimer
1. All costs incurred as a result of any damage, injury, loss, expense or liability that may be caused to public and/or private property by the student will be paid by the parents/guardians.
2. Thinker-Matics reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions without prior notice. All clients will be informed of any changes to the Terms and Conditions.
3. These terms and conditions, and the policies for payment, and the amount of the fees, may be varied by notice in writing to the student and/or parents/guardians of the student.
4. While all personal information furnished on all forms are confidential, photographs, exam scores & testimonials taken of students can & will be used for marketing purposes.
